Instructions:
- 1. Cut your wood plank into 6 pieces: two pieces for the top and bottom (11”x6”), two pieces for the sides (8”x6”), and two pieces for the ends (5”x8”).
- 2. Sand all the pieces until they are smooth with no sharp edges.
- 3. Apply wood glue to the bottom and side pieces and attach them to the bottom piece, holding them in place with clamps until the glue has dried.
- 4. Once the glue has dried, attach the end pieces to the sides and bottom with wood glue, holding them in place with clamps until the glue has dried.
- 5. Repeat with the top piece, leaving a slight overhang on the sides to make opening and closing the box easier.
- 6. Sand again to smooth out any rough edges or excess glue.
- 7. Apply a wood stain or paint of your choice and allow to dry.
- 8. Line the box with a fabric or leather of your choice and attach with wood glue.
- 9. Attach hinges to the back of the box and a latch to the front, making sure they are level and secure.
- 10. If desired, attach a metal plate with branding or personalization to the top.
